4 Years Sober
Today I’m 4 years sober.
One thing I’ve learned these last few years is that every temptation is an invitation to turn to Jesus. In those moments I want a glass of wine, or something stronger, I think to myself.. “What am I accomplishing by going down this path again?”
I’m pretty proud of myself, but it’s just the beginning. I’ve contemplated started to drink again, but don’t have legitimate justification as to why I would incorporate something back into my life I know was destructive in the first place. Why even open that door? I miss the margaritas, honey Jack on the rocks, & wine. But I also don’t think that, FOR ME, it’s worth the risk of slipping into old habits. Daily prayer, constant reminders to myself of what July 31st, 2018 was for our family, and knowing that right now, I need to be sober… are pushing me to year 5. And have you seen Charlie and Greyson!?
